Property & Casualty Insurance

Property insurance and casualty insurance (also called P&C insurance) are coverage that helps protect you and your property.

Property insurance helps cover what you own, like your car or home.

Casualty insurance means the policy has liability coverage to provide protection if you’re legally responsible for an accident that harms someone else or damages their belongings.

P&C insurance are normally packaged together into one policy. For example:

  • Car Insurance
  • Condo Insurance
  • Renters Insurance
  • Landlord Insurance
  • Homeowners Insurance
  • Power Sports Insurance

Each of these insurance policies offer various types of property and casualty coverage.

Car Insurance

Auto insurance protects you and your vehicle in many ways. With different coverages available, it can be hard to know what to choose. That’s where we come in.

Should you carry liability only or full coverage auto insurance? This will vary, depending on how much you think your car is worth. In most states, drivers must have liability coverage. Certain lenders may require comprehensive and collision coverage, too. If you have a loan on your car, you’ll probably have to carry full coverage insurance.

Need to add a teenage driver to your policy? No problem. We’re committed to finding you the best auto protection at the best price.

Condo Insurance

Condo insurance helps guard against structural damage within your unit. In general, it helps you pay for repairs — to the unit’s interior and your belongings — if they’re stolen or damaged by fire or vandalism. Liability protection may be included as well. This is different from what may be called “the master policy”, which can cover shared spaces like the swimming pool and other areas. We’ll help you understand what your own policy covers versus what your condo association’s policy may cover.

Renters Insurance

Not everyone owns a home. If you rent, you’ll probably see that your landlord has a policy to protect their building, but that insurance likely wouldn’t cover your personal belongings. Renters insurance helps protect what you own, such as clothing, electronics, and furniture. It also may include liability coverage and help pay for living expenses that have increased.

If you’re renting an apartment and accidentally cause a fire or flood, it could damage other units in addition to yours. Your liability insurance could then step in and pay for this catastrophic incident.

Landlord Insurance

Landlord policies help protect a property that produces rental income. Typically, it helps protect the building that you own from damage — caused by fire or hail, for instance. Like most other types of P&C insurance, it also offers liability protection, which may cover you if you get sued after an incident on your property.

Homeowners Insurance

Your home is extremely valuable. First, you’ll want to protect it from theft or fire. These policies also usually include liability coverage, which can help you if you’re legally responsible for someone getting injured at your house or you cause damage to another person’s property.

We strive to insure you properly. Maybe you need a roof replacement resulting from a covered claim. Perhaps you have to rebuild your entire home in the event of loss. You can ask us about anything, including extended dwelling coverage on your home insurance policy.

Power Sports Insurance

Boats, ATVs, golf carts, and snowmobiles are some vehicles that may have protection under specialized insurance. In general, these types of policies help cover the vehicle if it gets damaged or stolen. Liability protection may also be provided in case you cause damage to somebody’s property or injure another person while riding it. We’ll look for ways to reduce your annual premium while making sure you get the special coverage you need.

Extra Protection

Toy Insurance

You need to insure your motorcycle, but how? We suggest you get the same coverage as your auto policy. This includes:

  • 250/500 in liability
  • $100,000 in property damage
  • $5,000 in medical payment
  • 250/500 in uninsured motorist coverage
  • Comprehensive and collision deductibles — according to your needs

We recommend carrying these key coverages on your motorcycle policy because medical and uninsured motorist coverage doesn’t apply to any passengers that could ride with you.

Umbrella Insurance

When you need extra protection, we’re eager to step in and offer umbrella coverage. We work with many carriers that can add an additional amount of liability coverage — above and beyond your current limits. This low-cost policy protection is about $200 or less per year. The peace of mind you get? Priceless. We’re happy to discuss your options as we commit to protecting you, your family, and your assets.

We suggest that everyone carries an umbrella policy. It’s meant to cover you and your family (financially) from devastating life events that may occur.
